(Reported by He Baowei from Department of Metallurgical Technology) Recent days, China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Sino-heavymach for short) won the bid of complete set of green high-end nickel-chromium new material intelligent manufacturing slab continuous casting project of Zhenshi Group Eastern Special Steel Co., Ltd. (Eastern Special Steel for short).
This intelligent manufacturing project will establish a green, high-end nickel-chromium new material smart production base through capacity replacement, building-up the first "zero-carbon" nickel-chromium material intelligent manufacturing workshop in China steel industry. It represents Zhenshi Group’s innovative practice to ascend to the new height, achieve the new growth, and accelerate the green transformation of the steel industry.
After multiple-round competitions with top domestic and international metallurgical engineering companies, Sino-heavymach successfully secured the bid of two continuous casters for Eastern Special Steel by leveraging its core technological advantages. In response to Zhenshi Group’s uniqueness of casting steel grades, Sino-heavymach’s casting team has integrated the cutting-edge proprietary technologies into the design and engineering, including the most advanced bending & straightening roll arrangement curve, the new-type mould hydraulic oscillation model, etc., which can effectively improve the intelligent and green level of equipment, and realize the green production and efficiency upgradation. Besides these, this project adopts the whole-process 3D digital simulation to shorten the construction period greatly.
Liu Zhaowei, Deputy Chief Engineer of Sino-heavymach, was invited to present the project kick-off meeting together with the continuous casting team, and delivered an exchange on the slab caster project. During the continuous casting special session, Sino-heavymach reported the overall process layout of continuous casting workshop, reviewed and discussed the finished documents of overall process layout, civil works, and energy medium used for caster, and communicated on the critical concerned technical issues. President Liu Xiaoya, Deputy General Managers Zhang Xin, Qiu Chunming, and Pan Shuijun from Eastern Special Steel, unanimously gave full affirmation and praise to Sino-heavymach’s continuous casting team for their outstanding performance and accomplishments, and urged the team to sustain the good work attitude and complete the project with high efficiency and best quality.
Since the first stainless steel slab caster designed and supplied by Sino-heavymach to Eastern Special Steel in 2008, Sino-heavymach has maintained the long-term uninterrupted collaboration and cooperation with Eastern Special Steel. This time, the two new casters being provided in this project represent the leading technological standards in stainless steel industry. Sino-heavymach will take this opportunity to deepen collaborative exchanges with Eastern Special Steel, jointly exploring the stainless steel process innovation and new steel grade development, and providing robust support in equipment and technologies to drive high-quality development of China stainless steel industry.
