(Reported by Qin Luyu from XHET and Xue Song from Department of Metallurgical Technology) Recently, Xi’an Heavy Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as XHET), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sino-heavymach, collaborated with Steel-making Division and Hydraulic Research Institute, to carry out and complete the Six-machine Six-strand Round Billet Caster EP project, its hot test has been passed successfully at the first trial and casted for 10 heats continuously. This equipment is running stably, and reaching to the production requirements, which is acknowledged and praised by the client.
This continuous casting machine is capable of producing 160mm~220mm square billets and Φ180mm~ Φ240mm round billet, mainly product mix is 300 series stainless steel, duplex steel, and welding wire steel, with a designed output of 1MTPA. The caster is equipped with mold electromagnetic stirring system, and dynamic adjusted end electromagnetic stirring, to improve product quality, and also integrated with optimized dynamic secondary cooling water model, oscillation model, and other technologies developed and researched by Sino-hevymach so as to secure the product quality further. Sino-hevymach is responsible for designing and engineering the main technological process, as well as the mechanical, electrical and automation, and fluid system for its design, supply, erection guidance, commissioning, and training activities. After more than two months of hard commissioning and intensive training organized by project team from XHET, Steel-making Division, and Hydraulic Research Institute, this caster successfully completed the hot test on September 28th, 2023.
Over the years, Sino-heavymach has implemented several slab, square, and round billet continuous casters in Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and other countries. The signing of these Contracts and successful commissioning of these projects fully reflected the profound and solid technical expertise and professional project management capabilities of Sino-heavymach in various fields. Also, the team member will continue to follow-up the operation situation of caster in the subsequent production, and fully communicate with the client for further production and maintenance, which lays a concrete foundation for Sino-heavymach to broaden the cooperation with this client, and promote the metallurgical market in the region of Southeast Asia.
