On June 24, the hot strip mill of high-end aluminium plate, strip and foil intelligent construction project for Shanghai Huafon Aluminium Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Huafon Aluminium) — the “1+1+4” 2400mm composite aluminium hot strip mill was jointly undertaken by Xi'an Heavy Equipment & Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as XHET) which is a subsidiary of China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sino-heavymach), and Erzhong (Deyang) Heavy Equipment Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as EHEC) — achieved successful full-line commissioning. Chen Guozhen, Chairman of Huafon Aluminium; and Wang Huiqiu, Managing Director of SINOMACH Heavy Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sinomach-HE), attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhao Xiaohui, Deputy Managing Director of Sino-heavymach, participated in the commissioning event.

This project was undertaken by EHEC for providing integrated services for all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of the production line, while XHET was responsible for the engineering, supply, and commissioning of electrical and automation control systems for the line. During the project development process, it adopted a domestically pioneering single-stand dual-coiler and tandem rolling combined technological layout, integrated three rolling modes, and was equipped with a high-precision automation control system, enabling the completion of one aluminium coil from the line every 6 to 8 minutes, thereby achieving a significant leap in production efficiency. The successful operation of this production line has successfully established a domestic benchmark for independent innovation in high-end aluminum hot rolling equipment, further consolidating and enhancing the core technical competitiveness of Sino-heavymach in the field of electrical and automation control for high-end aluminium hot rolling complete equipment.

After commissioning, the project can stably yield an annual output of 450,000 tons of high-precision aluminum plate and strip products. Covering key national economic sectors such as new energy vehicles and rail transit, it provides core material support for the high-quality development of China's new energy industry and high-end equipment manufacturing. Furthermore, it further consolidates the resilience and security of China's industrial and supply chains for critical new energy basic materials, helping propel China's aluminum processing industry toward the medium-to-high end of the value chain. In the future, Sino-heavymach will take the commissioning of this key project as an opportunity to continuously deepen cooperation with Huafon Aluminium, fully ensure the high-standard operation of the production line, and create greater value for customers.
