Hot Test of Shandong Guangfu Group’s φ273mm Water Quenching Equipment Successfully Completed

(Reported by Guo Juqi from Oil/Gas Transmission Technology Institute) Recently, supplied as a complete set by China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Sino-heavymach for short), the φ273mm steel pipe semi-submerged quenching equipment successfully completed its initial hot load test at Shandong Guangfu Group Co., Ltd. (Shandong Guangfu Group for short). During its continuous trial production phase, the equipment has realized the stable operation and reliable performance, with all guarantee figures meeting the design specifications. The successful hot run test fully demonstrates Sino-heavymachs core competitiveness in the R&D and complete set supply of high-end pipe/tube heat treatment facilities, and will provide robust equipment support for the optimization of product structure, and transformation and upgrading for Shandong Guangfu Group.

Currently, the demand for high-strength, high-uniformity, and high-stability steel pipes/tubes in both domestic and international high-end marketscontinues to rise. New heat treatment processes and technologies have become crucial for the high-quality development and core competitivenessof industry. In this project, by leveraging its profound technical expertise, Sino-heavymach has achieved a comprehensive upgradation in heat treatment process, successfully integrated and applied multiple independent-developed innovative technologies, including closed-loop hydraulic pressure stabilization, internal-spraying water supply pressure preservation, return water ultra-pressure overflow, external-sprinkling return water throttling, and jet-type jetflow quenching, and so forth.This quenching equipment could offer exceptional process compatibility, enabling flexible combinations of various quenching modes, such as external sprinkling + internal spraying + rotation + semi-submerging and external sprinkling + internal spraying + rotation. This versatility precisely could satisfy the heat treatment requirements for steel pipes with diverse specifications and grades, providing a reliable technological guarantee for R&D and mass production of high-end steel pipes.

To addresstheprevailing industrial challenges such as insufficient hardenability of high-strength thick-walled steel pipes and poor microstructure uniformity after heat treatment, Sino-heavymach has independently researched the steel pipesemi-submergedquenching equipment and whole process package, which representsthe domestically initiated and internationally advanced integrated solution for tubular heat treatment.This technology could widely applicable to the quenching production of high-end steel pipes/tubes, including mechanical structural tubes, petrochemical OCTG, and high-pressure boiler pipes, which significantly enhances hardenability depth and microstructure uniformity, with its overall technology reaching to the leading position in the world. At present, this innovative achievement has been adopted on a large scale by several leading domestic steel pipe enterprises, which has garnered high market recognition and extensive industry acclaim with its stable, reliable performance and superior product quality.
