(Reported by Xue Song from Department of Metallurgical Technology) Recently, the hot test of 220mm×1600mm stainless steel continuous casting machine for PT Glory Metal Indonesia (PT GMI for short) ran successfully at its first trail. This marks the sixth stainless steel continuous casting machine designed and supplied by China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co.,Ltd. (Sino-heavymach for short) for the Indonesia Tsingshan Industrial Park, following previous projects such as Indonesia Guangqing, Tsingshan, Sulawesi, and Qingfeng casting machines. At present, the equipment is operating smoothly. The surface and internal quality of the billet both meet the standards, and all indicators have reached the expectations of the users.

As a leader in the field of continuous casting equipment,Sino-heavymach provided full-process services for the project, including design, supply, and commissioning. This continuous casting machine integrates multiple leading proprietary technologies and equipment independently developed by our institute, such as intelligent casting robot platform, liquid level control system, and a long-life high-precision hydraulic oscillation device. It is also equipped with process packages including a dynamic secondary cooling control model, a mold expert system, and an intelligent lubrication system. These features ensure that the continuous casting machine achieves efficient, precise, and fault-free operation from the very beginning of its hot test run, both in terms of equipment and process.

The smooth commissioning of this project is another successful example of Sino-heavymach actively responding to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative and promoting the "going global" of Chinese equipment. It also represents a demonstration project for Chinese stainless steel enterprises in effectively utilizing international resources, reducing production costs, and accelerating international development. Up to now, Sino-heavymach has commissioned a total of 20 slab casters (totaling 26 strands) and five round billet casters (totaling 24 strands) in the stainless steel sector, with an additional 2 slab caster (3 strands) currently under construction. The slab products cover thicknesses ranging from 165 mm to 260 mm and widths from 500 mm to 3100 mm. The official commissioning of this project has laid a solid foundation for further expanding our presence in overseas markets.

In the future, Sino-heavymach will continue to optimize designs and drive innovation, providing users with high-quality, cost-effective, energy-saving and eco-friendly stainless steel continuous casting production lines. Through more high-end, intelligent, green technological equipment, Sino-heavymach is committed to advancing the high-quality development of continuous casting technology.
