(Reported by Hao Jin from Department of Technical Work) On March 29, 2023, Shaanxi Machinery Industry Federation appraised two scientific and technological achievements from Sino-heavymach via experts and specialists conference, which were Extreme-thin Metal Strip Serialization 20-hi High-efficiency and Precision Cold Rolling Equipment Technology and Application, and Oil & Gas Transmission Pipeline High-efficiency and Energy-saving Double-station Extra-high Pressure Online Monitoring Technology and Equipment.
By developing Extreme-thin Metal Strip Serialization 20-hi High-efficiency and Precision Cold Rolling Equipment Technology and Application, Sino-heavymach invented a batch of know-how technologies and products with proprietary intellectual property rights, which could meet the cutting-edge industries requirements for ultra-precision extreme-thin strip. These also improved the capabilities in independent researching & developing, manufacturing, and auxiliaries matching, reduced the cost of purchasing, operating and maintaining, breaking the industrial monopoly of pricing rule and service mode of foreign integrator, and supporting the national strategy implementation of Made in China 2050, and the like.
The Appraisal Committee thought of this project has been established an unified constitutive model of plastic deformation process for extreme-thin strip cold rolling, improved the comprehensive control theory and practice of thickness and profile of extreme-thin metal strip, researched the casting, heat treatment, and machining technological process schemes for some key parts of serialization of 20-hi mill housing and roll arrangement system, developed a surface quality control technology of ultra-precise and high-grade extreme-thin strip. This project also helped breaking the bottleneck of thickness and profile control accuracy for cold rolling strip, realizing extreme-thin strip high-precision cold rolling, solving the key parts manufacturing difficulties of serialization 20-hi mill, guaranteeing the rolling tolerance of extreme-thin strip, strictly controlling the precise lubrication, accurate cleaning, and residual oil amount at one side strip surface, which could meet the surface quality requirements of extreme-thin strip for high-end manufacturing industry. This achievement has been promoted to Taiyuan University of Technology, Hunan Rare Earth Metal Materials Research Institute Co,. Ltd., Tsingtuo Technology, Guangxi Liugang Zhongjin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Yunnan Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co. Ltd., etc. for several complete sets of 20-hi cold rolling mills with remarkable economic and social benefits. The applications showed that overall technology of this achievement has been reached to international advanced level, especially the control technology of one side residual oil of extra-thin strip surface come to the world leading position.


During project research and development of Oil & Gas Transmission Pipeline High-efficiency and Energy-saving Double-station Extra-high Pressure Online Monitoring Technology and Equipment, by in-depth study of steel pipeline water pressure technology and theory, and following-up world cutting-edge technology, Sino-heavymach concentrated on solving problems of slow speed of pressure test, high energy consumption of equipment etc. Starting from study and research on equipment and process, Sino-heavymach made breakthroughs in some critical technologies aimed at the difficulties of double-station steel pipeline extra-high water pressure technology and equipment, which are included double-station steel pipeline material feeding and clamping & centering technology, double-station water filling device synchronous drive technology, double-station air exhausting device individual drive technology, double-station axial force standalone balancing technology, and double-station standalone pressurization control technology. This project met the requirements of production rhythm, multiple specifications, and small batches, and realized the full-automatic, high-efficiency, and flexible manufacturing of steel pipeline water pressure test.
The Appraisal Committee thought that a series of innovative technologies were researched and developed in this project, including double-station steel pipeline material feeding and clamping & centering technology, water filling device synchronous drive , air exhausting device individual drive, axial force standalone balancing, standalone pressurization control, standalone balancing device for hydraulic-mechanical compound drive of single cylinder boosting toggle rod, full-size self-adaptive double-station pipeline clamping & centering technology, energy-saving control technology of AC servo permanent magnet synchronous motor driven quantitative pump. This project helped realizing high-efficiency and energy-saving double-station extra-high pressure online test for oil & gas transmission pipeline, solving technical difficulties of leakage-prone of conventional single hydraulic cylinder balancing mode, large maintenance activities, and double-station pipeline material feeding and synchronous clamping technology. It also realized the self-adaptive adjustment within full-size pipeline length range, greatly reduced the energy consumption and noise of equipment, and guaranteed the functions of fast response, high precision and small fluctuation of pressure control of pipeline hydro-tester. This achievement has been applied to many backbone enterprises domestic and overseas, such as BaoSteel, AnSteel, UTP (Russia) etc. with distinguished economic and social benefits. The applications showed that the overall technology of project reached to international advanced level.
