Recently, the 280mm High-Precision Ultra-Thin Strip Multi-Function Rolling Mill of Taiyuan University of Technology undertaken by Sino-heavymach, has been successfully put into operation and the unit performance and product quality have been highly recognized and praised by client. At present, the unit has realized the stable rolling production of high precision ultra-thin stainless steel strip with thickness of 0.012mm and in the next step rolling of specifications below 0.01mm will be tried and mass production of special alloy will be conducted.

The project is a major special project of Shanxi Province, Taiyuan City and National Natural Science Foundation of China, which has attracted extensive attention in the rolling industry. After signing the project in January 2020, the project team worked over day and night and cooperated closely with the client to overcome negative effects caused by the breakout of Covid-19 and followed the time schedule. This project was the first one to pass the hot test run and was put into production among the three projects implemented by client in the same period.

The successful operation of this project further expands the impact of Sino-heavymach in the special alloy ultra-precision ultra-thin strip rolling field as well as lays a solid foundation for the development of special alloy ultra-thin strip compound rolling in the specialty of plate and strip rolling during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan".
